About me

Hi, I'm Adam Gemili, professional sprinter for the last 15 years with a pretty unique journey.

I actually started out chasing a football, not the finish line, spending eight years in Chelsea FC's academy (with a few loan spells along the way). In 2012 I made the leap from football to full-time athletics and I've not looked back. That year, I won gold in the World Junior 100m and made the GB Olympic Team running the 100m in London. In my time as a sprinter I became the first British man to run under both 10 seconds for the 100m and 20 seconds for the 200m as well as winning medals on a World, Commonwealth and European level. I was also part of the gold winning 4x100m relay team at the London 2017 World Championships.

I've proudly represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games - London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020. One of my closest (and toughest) moments was missing an Olympic 200m bronze in Rio by just three-thousandths of a second… it actually takes longer to blink haha!

It hasn't all been smooth sailing. Multiple injuries including hamstring tears, pectoral rupture to name a few as well as navigating my own mental struggles too. With the support of great coaches, a sports psychologist, and my family and friends, I rebuilt myself both physically and mentally, and found a renewed passion for the sport that's shaped my life.

Now, I'm excited to take everything I've learned from nearly 15 years at the top level and use it to help others smash their goals. I'm proud to be providing my unique perspective and knowledge from my time as an athlete.
